Mr. Branches is a dead tree that sits outside Salad Fingers' home.

In what is possibly just Salad Fingers' imagination, Mr. Branches has a face and speaks with the voice of a child.

Mr. Branches makes its first appearance in "Shore Leave" in a flashback where Salad Fingers is measuring its distance from his front door, teasing it for being slow.

Mr. Branches appears again in "Letter", where it is sticking one of its branches through Salad Fingers' doorway. Salad Fingers bites off the end of the branch, prompting Mr. Branches to start crying, calling him "Daddy".

Mr. Branches seems to want to come inside Salad Fingers' home. However, Salad Fingers tells the tree that it must come in by itself, to which Mr. Branches responds by crying, saying that it isn't fair.

Trivia

  • There is a chance that due to the tree being capable of speaking English (combined with the other mutated individuals), Mr. Branches could indeed be real.
  • It's possible that Mr. Branches is a deceased child of Salad Fingers, and he's simply putting his or her former personality in an inanimate object while hallucinating that it could talk.
    • It's also possible that Salad Fingers was hallucinating that Mr. Branches is his own son (it's unknown if Mr. Branches is inanimate or was once a human, but mutated and/or died). In reality, this tree cannot talk, move, or come inside because it's rooted to the ground.
  • It's also possible that this is a mutated tree, which cannot talk, but indeed did intrude on the house (possibly out of curiosity or attempting to eat Salad Fingers) It also seems to be hostile towards him to some degree, as it violently constricted Salad Fingers with one of its roots. This may or may not have triggered Yvonne's birth in some way.
